About the General Motors Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team:
GM has recently announced numerous steps to strengthen its position as a global automotive leader. GM is constructing an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) as one of the cornerstones to achieve this objective. As a member of the EDW team you will play a significant role in helping GM implement one of the largest data warehouses in the world. GM is seeking dynamic individuals who will leverage their industry knowledge and experiences to design, architect, deploy, and manage this data warehouse.
About the role:
The EDW Data Engineer position is a cross-platform technical position requiring applying technical acumen in the delivery of business intelligence solutions for General Motors. The EDW Data Engineer is involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from requirements, specifications, design, to coding, testing, and deployment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Educational:
- 4 Year IT College Degree/Masters preferred. Equivalent work experience acceptable
Job:
- 6-7 years development experience with BI Reporting tools (e.g. Cognos, Microstrategy, Tableau, others)
- 5-7 years development experience with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica, Data Stage, others)
- Superior programming skills
- Ability to comprehend complex technology and business problems
- Ability to learn new concepts and apply them to solutions
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Moderate to Advanced SQL skills
